Health and Wellness Tips for a Happier Life

Health and Wellness Suggestions: Your Friendly Guide to a Happier You

Hello, lovely readers! If you are anything like me, maintaining your health and embracing positivity in your life is important, but sometimes, let’s be real, it can feel like a little bit of a chore or an insurmountable challenge, right? With work, family, and the one more episode of that Netflix show we keep promising ourselves we’ll only watch one more episode, it can be easy to forget to take care of ourselves. However, don’t worry… Today, I want to share some friendly real world health and wellness suggestions that can help you find a way fit it into your life with health and wellness tips for a happier life blog. So let’s jump in!

1. Find Your Movement:

Lets first start by talking about exercise…. I know…. That word alone can send shivers down some people’s spines!! Remember, it doesn’t have to be about going to the gym or running marathons if that’s not your thing. Think about the kinds of movement you enjoy. Is it playing music and dancing around your living room? Or a slow walk in the park with your furry friend? Whatever is truly what you love you have to find it! Probably not a shock to anyone, but I love yoga! For me, it feels like a nice snuggly hug for my body and it…

2. Sleep as a Priority:

Let’s talk about sleep (insert sleepy face emoji). If you think you can power through life on a few hours of sleep, think again! Sleep is essential for our mental and physical health. Our bodies need sleep to recover, refresh and thrive! Aim for 7 – 9 hours of sleep each night. If you are having trouble shutting down after a long day, my advice is to create a bedtime routine. I typically snuggle up with a good book (currently reading mysteries!) and keep electronics far from me. You wouldn’t believe how much better you will feel after an excellent night of sleep!

3. Nourishing Instead of Punishing:

When it comes to food, my advice is to change the mindset from “dieting” to “nourishing.” Instead of focusing on what you can’t eat, turn your attention to all the delicious colors you can eat! Fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains can be your friends. I always love adding simple meals that don’t need a culinary degree. One of my favorite go to meals is quinoa salad packed with colorful vegetables and lightly tossed with vinaigrette. It can be easy, filling and stay good for quick lunches all week.

4. Hydration Station:

Water, water, everywhere, but how often do we actually drink it? Adequate hydration improves health, energy levels, skin, and a whole other raft of benefits – improving hydration is a serious game-changer for your health. If plain water is boring, try infusing it with some fresh fruit or herbs – lemon and mint is a classic! To remind myself to drink water daily, I carry a cute water bottle that I can check off goals!

5. Mindfulness Matters:

We all live life at a ridiculously fast pace and it’s easy to let the chaos happen. That’s where mindfulness comes into play. Practicing being present will support you in reducing stress and improving well-being! You can do this anywhere, and you do not have to meditate for hours on end! All you need to do is take a moment to focus on your breath and remind yourself to be in the here and now! I often experience being overwhelmed and I really enjoy taking a short meditation session or deep breathing when I feel this way. I can honestly say, it is the best mental reset!

6. Create Your Support Squad:

Finally, let’s not forget the power of community! Being surrounded by others that are positive and share your mindset can be a huge motivator! Whether you find this place through a local class, through friends, or online groups; having a support squad in place will absolutely keep you accountable and support you on your journey. And, let’s be real, it’s always more fun to share wins and losses with others!

Bringing it all together

In health and wellness tips for a happier life with all of these tips, you are on the right path to a healthier and happier you! Remember that it is not about being perfect; it’s about progress and figuring out what works best for you. Continue to celebrate your small (and big!) successes and be kind to yourself throughout your journey. Most importantly, go out and enjoy your life!

Until next time, be well!
